Villa Barranco Ananay
Villa Barranco Ananay
Boutique hotel set in a 1920s mansion in the heart of Barranco, Lima. Nine characterful rooms, rooftop terrace overlooking the ocean.
Villa Barranco Ananay occupies a former 1920s republican mansion, transformed into a boutique hotel in the bohemian heart of Barranco, Lima. Vintage furnishings, Persian rugs and a rooftop terrace facing the ocean: the property emphasizes architectural character over five-star standards.
Why stay at Villa Barranco
The establishment belongs to the Peruvian Ananay Hotels network, which brings together characterful properties throughout the country. Here, the original building has been preserved: a grand wooden staircase in the hall, period volumes, curated furniture and collectibles scattered across common areas. The Villa has nine rooms in total, making it an intimate address where you'll feel at home quickly.
Worth noting: this is not a five-star hotel with spa or full restaurant. Rather, it's a characterful house designed for those who value atmosphere and location over an extensive range of services.
Atmosphere
Barranco's bohemian spirit is reflected in the interior design. Colorful throws contrast with white linens, Persian rugs dress the floors, and vintage furnishings sit alongside curated objects. The garden surrounds the house and mutes street noise, relatively quiet in this area. The overall feel is intimate and unpretentious, true to the neighborhood's artistic identity.
The rooms
Villa Barranco offers nine rooms spread across two floors.
On the first floor:
- Two Deluxe rooms, one with a small garden
- Four Junior Suites, two with small gardens
On the second floor:
- Two Junior Suites, one with private terrace, the other with balcony
- One Master Suite in loft format, with terrace and sea view
All rooms feature air conditioning, wifi and television. The bedding follows the house's decorative codes: white linens, colorful throws, touches of vintage furniture.
Services and facilities
The rooftop terrace is one of the property's highlights. It features a bar (soft and alcoholic drinks) and open views over the Pacific Ocean and Barranco's rooftops. The hotel offers room service but no full restaurant: for meals, the neighborhood offers a remarkable density of dining options, from casual bistros to Lima's gastronomic addresses.
No spa or fitness room on-site. However, the Ananay network provides guests with access to Playa Barranquito, where it's possible to take surf lessons with local instructors.
Location
The exact address is C. Carlos Zegarra 274, Lima 15063, on a quiet Barranco street. The neighborhood's Plaza de Armas, its art galleries and several restaurants are a few minutes' walk away. Jorge-Chávez International Airport is about 45 minutes by car depending on traffic; a shuttle can be arranged through the hotel.
Nearby
The Museo Pedro de Osma, a few streets from the villa, houses a notable collection of Peruvian vice-royal art and deserves a visit to understand the region's colonial heritage. The seaside shopping center Larcomar, in the neighboring Miraflores district, groups together shops, restaurants and cinemas on a clifftop (allow about ten minutes' drive north).
To extend your journey beyond Lima, several Ananay network properties and our selections are scattered throughout the country: Hotel Katari in Arequipa, Tierra Viva in Puno, or Isla Suasi lodge on Lake Titicaca.
